Review:Winter (Four Seasons, #1) by Frankie Rose

A girl with a dark history…

Avery Bresllin took a leap of faith when she changed her name. As Avery Patterson, she is no longer the daughter of a serial killer. No longer the girl who was bullied and abused through high school. A fresh name and a fresh start at Columbia University means Avery can leave all that behind. There’s only one thing marring her dream of a clean slate….

A boy with a past of his own…

Luke Reid has a lot going for him: sex appeal, badass tattoos and insane musical talent. Despite his guitar skills, his calling in life has always been to serve and protect. A NYPD cop by day, singer in rock band D.M.F by night, from the outside Luke seems like he’s got it made. But falling for a girl whose father was accused of deeply sinister acts—a man whom Luke shared a devastating history with, himself—only serves to complicated things.

Pieces of a puzzle…. Four symbols, four methods of destruction. A trade. Borrowed wings. Dark secrets that threaten to destroy.

Review:

Sometimes, when i don't know what to read next, i keep searching on Goodreads, always looking and reading description until something makes me curious..And,that's how i found out about Winter.
I had my doubts, but instantly i loved the cover and i had to give this book a try, because the description was interesting and it was obvious that it had to be something good.Well,i never expected it to be a roller-coaster of emotional events..but,it was.

Avery's life wasn't simple like it should be.Hiding the fact that her dad was considered a killer,Avery's decided that it was better for her to change her name and to hide her true identity, but once again that changes when she saw Luke Reid at a party, reminding her about everything that happened and with that reminder comes hope.Hope ,that maybe she can find the truth about what happened with her dad.Hope ,that maybe one day she could live without hiding ,without looking over her shoulder, afraid of what could happen. But what if it isn't that simple? What if there are a lot of scary things that could change everythin gonce again..What if?
Luke Reid's life is a living hell.Between trying to be a good cop and trying t o live with the thought that the man who helped him the most was considered a killer,Luke is determined to help Avery, even if he doesn't know how.But Luke has his own demons, demons who haunt him and make him wish that everything was better, easier and good..Still,there are many ups and downs..What if his demons are too hard to fight? What if telling the truth won't do any good? What if...

This story had many ups and downs,it was completely crazy because there were many hard moments in which i never knew what to believe or what to think about what was happening.Yet,i found myself fascinated by the strenght and determination the main characters had in them. The way they were struggling to find out the truth and the way the were trying really hard to keep believing that they knew the truth, that Avery's dead wasn't capable of doing something horrible like that.
I enjoyed reading this book, mainly because i loved reading about how everything was described and because it was a mystery for me.Yeah,i kind of wanted to strangle Avery sometimes, but i got past that, especially when i started to understand her reasons and the rest. And Luke? That guy was a saint.Honestly!Yeah,i know he has a bad past and all the jazz, but he was constantly there helping Avery, despite his pain, despite the fact that he was having a hard time himself.

I guess,i was intrigued by some things and i wanted really bad to know who was the real killer or who was doing all those horrible things, but i can admit that i was a little shocked when i started to read about Luke's past.Shocking truth! But at least he ended up being a good guy, special and very interesting.
And Avery? She was the one who had to suffer the most, even if she didn't have anything to do with what happened.Yeah,he was her dad,but c'mon..Crazy,crazy!A roller-coaster of crazy events full of ups and downs..Yet i don't regret reading this book.
