Blog Tour That One Summer by C.J Duggan

Loving Chris Henderson would be wrong. Diabolically disastrous. I mean, what is there about him to love? He’s moody, bossy, brooding, a control freak, and that’s on a good day … but there was one achingly obvious fact that haunted my every thought, every minute of every day …

He sure could kiss.

As the countdown to the new millennium begins, there is one thing everyone agrees on: no one wants to be in Onslow for New Year’s Eve.

So that can only mean one thing: road trip!

No longer the mousey, invisible, shy girl from years ago, Tammy Maskala is finally making up for all those lost summers. A new year with new friends, which astoundingly includes the bossy boy behind the bar, Chris Henderson.

She likes her new friends (at least most of them), so why does she secretly feel so out of place?

After chickening out on the trip, a last-minute change of heart sees Tammy racing to the Onslow Hotel, fearing she’s missed her chance for a ride. The last thing she expected to meet was a less-than-happy Onslow Boy leaning against his black panel van.

Now the countdown begins to reach the others at Point Shank before the party is over and the new year has begun. Alone in a car with only the infuriating Chris Henderson, Tammy can’t help but feel this is a disastrous start to what could have been a great adventure. But when the awkward road trip takes an unexpected turn, Tammy soon discovers that the way her traitorous heart feels about Chris is the biggest disaster of all.

Fogged up windows, moonlight swimming, bad karaoke and unearthed secrets; after this one summer nothing will ever be the same again.

Who said that Chris Henderson is not someone you could fall in love with has yet to meet the real Chris Henderson.
I'm still trying to process everything that happened, but like always i have to admit that the book was truly amazing and that the main characters weren't exactly like i expected..So..
Do you remember Tammy Maskala?Well,if you don't remember her then let me tell you this:she is Amy's best friend and a really sweet girl who manages to steal the heart of one of the Onlsow Boys.

Guess which one!Well,i'm sure that, like me,no one expected that exactly the one who is always frowning and serious would be the one who will steal Tammy's heart.
But..I admit that i loved reading about them.About how Chris was more than a grumpy guy.About how Tammy reacted when she was tricked by her mother and by Amy.Or the wonderful surprise Toby did to Tess(even if at some point the way they acted made me shout out loud : What?WHy?When?.Don't ask, read the booK!)

So when i started reading the book i was happy because i really wanted to know what Cj wrote and what the story will be about.Imagine my reaction when everything happened...But i admit that when it is about the Onslow Boys and about the girls everything has to be perfect and crazy. It was.

Tammy-at first i was a little afraid that i won't like her or that she wasn't going to have a beautiful story like Tess and Amy,but i was wrong.Sweet, beautiful  and smart,Tammy managed to make me love this book. She wasn't bad and i'm glad..And if i think about how Chris is..If you know what i mean..
What really matters is that Tammy was perfect for this story. For Chris.Yep,she managed to do exactly what the rest of the girls couldn't and for that i almost jumped up and down..Happiness.Yay!A little insecure and sometimes she was thinking too much about some things, but in the end everything was perfect.

Since the first time i read about Chris(In The Boys Of Summer) i never thought about how he was or how his story will be.He was always the party breaker ,the one who always was working and ..the rest you know. But this..This was really a big surprise and i loved every single scene.Yep,who knew that Chris Henderson could be like this?No one!
Once again we get the chance to read about our favorite characters.Once again we get the chance to read about real friendship and about how real friends act.

Fun.Real love.Happiness.Crazy time.And once again real love.

Yep,i had to write that twice because this book was about real love. The beginning of something beautiful.
I admit that i expected everything to happen a little strange, cause if you think about it not everyone could get Chris attention, that i know from The Boys Of Summer and An Endless Summer. But somehow Tammy managed that pretty fast.
But this book wasn't just about Tammy and Chris.I just can't ignore all those scenes with the rest of the characters.Every single one of them had an important part in this story and i loved how everything happened.

What i loved the most? The way Tammy and Chris acted when they were together. At first like nothing was happening between them and then slowly that changed. And it was perfect!!I should stop right now before i write every single thing that happened in this book and that won't be good at all.

And the last thing i want to add is: You.Have.To.Read.This.Book.ASAP!
