Fiecare poveste are două versiuni.

Quotes(#97)

“Some things you need to keep protected, you know? Some things you don’t share with just anybody. You choose the people in your life you open up to about the sacred things because those are the people truly invested and concerned about your life. Anyone you run into will be eager to give you advice, but are they really taking your best interests into consideration? Or are they simply letting their own experiences and biases mold the advice they give you?”

Review:Countdown by Michelle Rowen

3 seconds left to live. Once the countdown starts, it cannot be stopped.

2 pawns thrown into a brutal underground reality game.

Kira Jordan survived her family's murder and months on plague-devastated city streets with hard-won savvy and a low-level psi ability. She figures she can handle anything. Until she wakes up in a barren room, chained next to the notorious Rogan Ellis.

1 reason Kira will never, ever trust Rogan. Even though both their lives depend on it.

Their every move is controlled and televised for a vicious exclusive audience. And as Kira's psi skill unexpectedly grows and Rogan's secrets prove evermore deadly, Kira's only chance of survival is to risk trusting him as much as her instincts. Even if that means running head-on into the one trap she can't escape.

GAME 0VER

Review:

Review:

There was a game named Countdown, with six levels. Two people had to complete those levels in order to survive. But what if you are chosen to play without your consent? What if you are a part of that game just to stay away from a place where you might end up having an horrible future?
The big questions are: What if you find out that the one who controls the games isn't exactly who you thought he was? What would you do?Save him or kill him?

When it comes to books like this one i just can't stop myself from reading them. Why?I'm addicted to them.Well, that's not something new for me and it never will be.I won't stop reading them, especially if those book are extremely good like this one.Definitely, this is one of those book i will always recommend to everyone.

Kira Jordan's life wasn't perfect. After her family was murdered,Kira struggled every day to survive. She became a thief and she did everything she could to survive. But what she never agreed to,what she never thought could happen-was the fact that she was forced to be a part of Countdown. An horrible game where she had to complete six levels in order to survive. But what if Kira's too smart for that game? What if Kira will find a way to stop that? What if the boy ,the one who was sent with Kira in the game, and Kira will find a way to stop the game forever?

Rogan Ellis-he might be the son of an important and powerfull man,but his life wasn't that perfect.Between the rumors and accusations ,and the fact that his own father destroyed his life,Rogan accepted to be a part of Countdown, just so he won't end up in Saradone, the worst nightmare everyone could have. But his life was already a nightmare,a nightmare he was trying to escape.Maybe agreeing to be a part of Countdown wasn't such a bad idea.Maybe after all he will find a way to put an end to his nightmare.

After all..Kira and Rogan end up fighting for their life. And it was pretty much brilliant. But what was perfect was they way everything started-cause i can say that there were a lot of lies and surprises. And of course everything started to happen in this way after The Plague.
Also ,there was a place named the Colony.Where people with abilities-like psi abilities,Kira had a  low-level psi ability,or at least that was what everyone thought- could live in peace and learn everything about their abilities.
What you need to know about Countdown is that the game was something like kill or be killed.Survive until the end and you will be rewarded with something you really wish you could have. But in this case neither Kira nor Rogan accepted to kill each other for that reward.

It was exciting and i liked what i read from the beginning.Honestly,i didn't expect this, but i should have thought that it will be something like this.I mean read the description and you will know that it won't be something easy and normal.Heck,i still can't believe what i read.

So,every single move Kira and Rogan did was televised. The couldn't do something without eveyrone knowing. The game was a secret and there were people who paid to see that game.Horrible as it seems ,those people enjoyed watching how two people struggled to survive.Yikes.That's not something i would do,but i guess in this way it added something to the book and it made everything interesting.
Ignoring a few things,i can say that this story was exactly the way i wish every single dystopian story should be.With strong characters, surprises, lie, dangerous situations and ,of course, the beginning of something beautiful between the main characters(even if there is always the possibility that something bad could happen).Let's just say that a few book ,dystopian books, impressed me,so i'm extremely glad that finally i can add another book on that list.

And what i want to add: You have to read this book ASAP! Brilliant.
Can i give it more than five stars?Pretty please?

Review:Forever my girl by Heidi McLaughlin

I was never supposed to be a rock star. I had my life all planned out for me. Play football in college. Go to the NFL. Marry my high school sweetheart and live happily ever after.

I broke both our hearts that day when I told her I was leaving. I was young. I made the right decision for me, but the wrong decision for us. I’ve poured my soul into my music, but I’ve never forgotten her. Her smell, her smile.

And now I’m going back.

After ten years.

I hope I can explain that after all this time.

I still want her to be my forever girl.

Review:

“I only have eyes for one woman, period … When I saw you, I knew I had made a mistake. I should have never left or at least come back for you. My life is better with you in it, Josie. I’m not going to do anything to jeopardize that.”

Sometimes you do something because you think is better for you,but sometimes you end up regreting cause you realize that maybe you did the wrong thing and you ruined something beautiful..But in the end what really matters is the fact that sometimes you can get a second chance to fix your mistake and do the right thing.

Huh.Not sure why i wrote that above, but i guess that's how i can describe what one of the main character did in this book.Well,at least that's what i think he did.
This book was amazing in so many ways. The way the book was written, the characters and the story.Mostly the story and how everything happened. Not something perfect, but something that got from worst to better.
A story which started with a bad news and ended with a happy reunion. And it was completely amazing.
The story was pretty good, even if i have to admit that i didn't like that something bad had to happen so the main characters meet again, but i guess it was better like this and i like how things turned out in the end.

Josephine Preston's life is exactly the way she wanted. She had her job,her son and the perfect man beside her,but something was missing. When a tragedy happens, when Josie's friend Mason dies ,Josie has to face the fact that the man she once loved ,her child's father, might return in town for the funeral. What Josie never imagined was that she might still be in love with him.The one who left her ten years ago.

Liam Westbury has everything he wants:Fame, the chance to sing and be heard by everyone. But the fact that his best friend died changed everything.Made him do exactly what he never imagined he  would do again:return to Beaumont.Playing music was his dream.Doing what he wanted without thinking about anything else, but what if he is regreting the decision he made ten years ago? What if he finds something in Beaumont that might change his life forever? On the stage he is Liam Paige. In Beaumont he is Liam Westbury.Who is the real Liam? The one who realizes that his life will be whole again beside the woman he loved ten years ago or the one who wants to be a rock star?

Spoiler?A little and i'm sorry for that, but i couldn't stop myself from writing those things about Liam and Josie.I mean i was trying really hard to keep the details out ,but sometimes i'm not good at that.
So,the way they met again wasn't perfect, but i liked the reactions they had.It was pretty much crazy. It was fun and i liked it.
Do you believe in second chances? I believe in them, but not always. Not always is worth giving a second chance, but in this case it was.
I understand Liam's desire to do something for him.It was a big step what he did,but after ten years?Well, let's just say that i'm glad he returned to Beaumont. And Josie?A few times i laughed because of how she reacted. She wasn't happy at first to see Liam, but i liked that everything changed step by step.
But..Honestly?Noah was my favorite.I adored the kid.He was polite and sweet.Exactly, how every mom should raise her kid.He was clever and talented-Yep,something that reminds me of Liam.Yikes.
My list of favorite characters continues:Katelyn and her daughters,Payton and Ella, are on that list because they were constantly present in this book.I liked them.Everything was much better with them in the picture, even if some of the moments were sad.Katelyn was the perfect friend for both Liam and Josie, and the girls were amazing.
I won't write about Nick Ashford, the man who was with Josie for ten years, because i wasn't his biggest fan,so i'll pass this time.

How can you say no to a book like this one?I couldn't and i'm glad that i read it.Beautiful and full of surprises, Forever My Girl made me smile and laugh. The kind of book who makes you realize that you have to think twice before you take a decision and that sometimes it is good to give a second chance, even if it's hard.
