Castles on the Sand (Shattered Castles, #1)

Book Descriptions:

Love in Darkness

Alex had everything when he was with Madison. But the darkness within him wouldn't go away. After two years apart, he returns to Pelican Bluffs and to the girl he never wanted to leave.

Madison wants to give their love another chance, but Alex can't fight fate. He is what he is. Ruined. Crazy like his mother. And Madison deserves so much more. When his secrets spill out into their small town, Alex has a choice to make. Hide away in the darkness forever, or let love in.

Alex Katsumoto's life was never simple.Having a sick mother and thinking that he might end up being exactly like her ,makes him realize that some things in his life has to change, mainly his relationship with Madison.
But what he doesn't know-what he didn't realize from the beginning was that he needed someone in his life, someone who could help him get through everything.

The first time i read about Alex was in "Castles On The Sand".My opinion about him wasn't a good one,at least that was at the beginning. But slowly it changed, because he became a character i started to admire.Nobody knew him exactly.Nobody wanted to know why he acted like that, why he never wanted to talk or why he was alone.Well, now after reading " Love In Darkness" and knowing all the reasons why Alex did everything he did, i understand him.Not completely ,but at least now i have the answers to all my questions.

Alex fears that he might end up being exaclty like his mother. He started hearing voices and losing control, but not entirely. He had the chance to do something about that, but not alone. He wasn't alone and for that i was grateful.
Now i can say that i liked him and i hated that he didn't realize that he couldn't go through that alone without friends or Madison. He deserved to be happy after all that happened in his life.

All his life he was the psycho in the people eyes. The boy who never talked ,the dangerous one.But in the end he was the boy who knew that he was sick, the boy who wanted to help others who were sick.He had a good reputation because he helped so many peoples, but there was a scene in the book where all the help wasn't returned ,and that's what i disliked the most.

Alex was the kind of character who was perfect in a way that not everyone understands.Despite the way he looked-he was handsome, that i can't ignore - ,he was always trying to do something good for others and not for him.
His mother and Madison were on the first place, mainly his mother. With Madison he tried to do what he thought was good for her,but he was wrong. And i'm glad that in the end he accepted that he loved her and she loved him.Something he couldn't change.

This book was mainly about mental illness.About how it can affect your life if you let it.About how one second you are feeling good and then everything changes. And about how love can help the ones who are sick-the people who think they don't deserve to be loved.
Alex was one of those who thought that he couldn;t let the girl who loved him take care of him if he ever needed that, but in the end he realized that what he needed was to fight. To live his life ,to live every single day like it was the last day of his life .To love and be loved. To help the people who needed help. That was Alex. The boy who after all he's been through he found a reason to keep living and fight the sickness he had.

I admit that it was fantastic! It wasn't just a simple story. It was complicated and hard.Sometimes i couldn't believe what i was reading, and sometimes i just stared at the page of the book like it was the best thing that could have happen.Yikes.
Mental illness- reading about this is not exaclty what i had in mind, but i can admit that i was curious and i wanted to read more about Alex. And here i am now trying to find a way to write everything that i have in my mind about what really happened in this book.

Honestly, what shocked me the most was Kailie's role in this book.I hated that girl for what she did to Madison, but now i changed my opinion about her, because she helped Alex.A lot!But i won't ever forget everything she did in "Castles on the sand."
John..What was wrong with that guy!? Too much.. Yes,he was Madison's brother, but i swear that if i was in Madison's place i would've punch him a few times. Why?Well,he did some things that weren't good and it wasn't fair. No,no,no!But,well,in the end it didn't matter.
I won't write about all the characters because then i'll writing and i won't stop.

The book was amazing and i can honestly say that you have to read it in order to understand everything i wrote above.
