Sean looked out over the lake, squinting against the sunlight. He turned to me, his expression sobering as his eyes flicked over my face in a silent study.
“Come on Amy, I saved you once, I’ll save you again.”
I met his stare unflinchingly. “I don’t need saving.”
A wicked grin formed slowly. “Don’t you?”
After a rebellious summer night that almost claimed her life, Amy Henderson – the Onslow publican’s only daughter – is sent away to suffer a fate far worse than any other punishment:
Three years on, a now nineteen-year-old Amy returns to Onslow for the summer. What once was a cauldron of activity with live bands, hot meals and cold beers, the Onslow Hotel now lies dark, deserted and depressing. All fond childhood memories of loitering on the hotel stairs and eavesdropping on customers’ colourful conversations are in the distant past.
How had her dad let it come to this?
With the new threat of putting the Onslow up for sale, Amy reluctantly turns to a local tradesman for help: Sean Murphy, the very same Onslow boy who saved her life all those years ago. With his help and that of some old friends, the task is clear: spend the summer building the hotel back up to its former glory or lose it for good.
In an endless summer, Amy soon realises that sometimes in order to save your future, you have to face your past, even if it’s in the form of a smug, gorgeous Onslow boy.
The difference between the both books in the Summer series is that An Endless Summer was about Sean, and ,well, since i enjoyed reading about Sean in The Boys Of Summer imagine my reaction after i read the book about him and Amy.Still ,i can't wipe the smile off my face and when i remember everything that happened in this book all i want to do is re-read everything.Well..
Amy Henderson was always treated like the daughter of the Onslow Hotel's owner.Everyone little sister. No one looked at her like she was anything else, that until she finally did something that got everyone's attention.Including Sean's.And that's when the fun begin.
After some reckless actions and being sent away to a boarding school,Amy finally returns home where she belongs. But what she finds there is not what she expected. It was worse. And that's when she realizes that she had to do something.Something to prove that she's not the reckless girl who everyone thinks. That she can do something on her own. That she can save her home.
This is the kind of book you need to read in order to understand that in life some things are more important than others, that you should fight for what you want and don't let anyone make you believe you can't.Well,at least that's what i learned from this story. That and more.
I was excited to read once again about the Onslow Hotel.About the Onslow Boys, even if at the beginning i was a little scared that maybe i won't read about all the boys again.Well,my mistake. They were there! And it was the best thing, cause the Onslow Hotel and this story wouldn't be the same without them.Eeep!
I loved the story and i'm grateful that i got the chance to read again about my favorite characters. It was intense..in a good way.So many things happened, mainly, between Sean and Amy.Fun!Fun!The perfect summer. And i'm too excited and happy..and i can't stop.Yeah.Well,i'm trying not the write too much.Hmm.Good luck with that.
This book made me laugh so much, especially because of Amy reaction when she was teased by everyone. And now i remember that in The Boys Of Summer it was the same with Tess. The were moments when i couldn't believe how Amy and Sean reacted when they were together.Because of the way they talked and acted sometimes it was funny and maybe a little weird, but the attraction between them was obvious! For me,it was.And it was awesome.
I loved reading the scenes when the Onslow boys,Ellie,Tess ,Adam ,Chris and Amy were together. How they worked to clean the Onslow Hotel or just when they were together. It was priceless. And now i wish to have friends like them.Oh,well..
Once again i find myself trying to figure it out how to write the perfect review for the perfect book.I'm not sure if what i wrote above is exactly the best ,but so far i'm satisfied with what i wrote.
This wasn't just a simple book.It was a love story ,a funny story and the perfect book to learn what real friendship is like.
Dedication.Hard work.Love.Friendship.Fun.Summer.And the best things that could happen in someones life, even if Amy had to go through some bad moments to learn that she had to fight for what she wanted and that sometimes you had to let go in order to gain what you want, even if you don't know that.
One word that popped in my head after i finish the book:Epic. Why?Well, despite being amazing and perfect, this book had exactly what i expect in every Contemporary/New Adult books: Attractive and funny boys.A pretty unsure main character, who until the end of the book changes.A good story.Real friendship. And more.I won't write the whole list, because it's too long.Yikes.What i can add is that : Once again i fell in love with the characters and the story.Once again i fell in love with Sean!!Well, that's true.Ha!Impossible not to love him(too charming and hot for his own good).Once again C.J made me smile so much with her story.Perfect and i'm grateful for that.
And what i want to write right now: You have to read this book ASAP!You won't regret it.
