Review:On the island by Tracey Garvis-Graves.

When thirty-year-old English teacher Anna Emerson is offered a job tutoring T.J. Callahan at his family's summer rental in the Maldives, she accepts without hesitation; a working vacation on a tropical island trumps the library any day.

T.J. Callahan has no desire to leave town, not that anyone asked him. He's almost seventeen and if having cancer wasn't bad enough, now he has to spend his first summer in remission with his family - and a stack of overdue assignments - instead of his friends.

Anna and T.J. are en route to join T.J.'s family in the Maldives when the pilot of their seaplane suffers a fatal heart attack and crash-lands in the Indian Ocean. Adrift in shark-infested waters, their life jackets keep them afloat until they make it to the shore of an uninhabited island. Now Anna and T.J. just want to survive and they must work together to obtain water, food, fire, and shelter.

Their basic needs might be met but as the days turn to weeks, and then months, the castaways encounter plenty of other obstacles, including violent tropical storms, the many dangers lurking in the sea, and the possibility that T.J.'s cancer could return. As T.J. celebrates yet another birthday on the island, Anna begins to wonder if the biggest challenge of all might be living with a boy who is gradually becoming a man.

I won't lie when i mention the fact that i was completely surprised after i finished the book.I was amazing, beautiful and heartbreaking, those are not  enough to describe what happened in this book.

The fact that i expected something great, helped me control the way i felt after Anna and T.J. started living on the island, fighting for their life.
It was crazy and at the same time amazing how they managed to survive, even if they had plenty hard moments.
But it was something like a wake up call, maybe not just for me.Honestly,i'm pretty sure i won't have to go through what they've been ,but i never know what life could throw in my face.

I admired Anna. She was a smart, beautiful and strong woman who did everything she could to live and keep T.J. alive.Even if she started losing hope and a few times freaked out,i love her desire to live.

T.J.,after being sick having cancer, what happened with the plane wasn't exactly what he deserved, but he managed to surprise me,even shock me a few times. He was strong, charming and perfectly capable of doing things, that i'm pretty sure at his age he shouldn't do.Well, that's my opinion, but he wouldn't have done those things the romance wouldn't exist, right?
I'm not exactly the type of person who keeps track of the age difference,so the relationship between Anna an T.J. was exactly what i hope for, considering that it was something that if the plane never crashed, wouldn't happened.

Even if it was struggle to them,i loved how their love grew and how they took care of each other.Three and a half years alone on an island...Hard,but somehow they survived.

I gotta admit that i thought that sometimes everything happened too fast, but i won't complain, cause it was perfect.
Not everything was perfect, there were a few rough and heartbreaking moments, and the rest was a beautiful disaster.

Between trying to survive and losing their hope that someday they'll be rescue, finally the big moments happened.A wild ride..Well,after all they've been through  on that island they deserved to live,to be happy and move on.

I freaking loved the epilogue.
Amazing! The whole story was amazing, but it was a little hard, mainly when the ba moments happened, for me to read. But i did it and i'm glad.It was worth it and i don't regret it.
Beautiful and well written, the author created a story about a woman and a boy who fought to survive on an island and in between all that happened they fell in love.
