Review:The Bane by Keary Taylor.

Before the Evolution there was TorBane: technology that infused human DNA with cybernetic matter. It had the ability to grow new organs and limbs, to heal the world. Until it evolved out of control and spread like the common cold. The machine took over, the soul vanished, and the Bane were born. The Bane won't stop until every last person has been infected. With less than two percent of the human population left, mankind is on the brink of extinction.

Eve knows the stories of the Evolution, the time before she wandered into the colony of Eden, unable to recall anything but her name. But she doesn't need memories to know this world is her reality. This is a world that is quickly losing its humanity, one Bane at a time.

Fighting to keep one of the last remaining human colonies alive, Eve finds herself torn between her dedication to the colony, and the discovery of love. There is Avian and West – one a soldier, one a keeper of secrets. And in the end, Eve will make a choice that will change the future of mankind.

The Bane is The Terminator meets The Walking Dead with a heart-twisting romance.

Imagine living in a world where humans beings are replaced by machines.A world where every day you have to fight for your life.
Well,if you can't imagine that then you have to read this book.I don't say this just because of what i wrote above. It is because of how incredible the book was.How strong the characters were. And finally because it gives you the chance to appreciate the way the world is now.

I liked the story.Honestly,i can't imagine living in a world like that one.It was hard and painful, but the hard moments were not the only ones.My point is that evey book has bad moments and good moments. This one wasn't an exception and it couldn't have been.

My favorite character was Eve.At first i didn't understand how she was so strong and better at hunting and defending the group. It was strange because she was better than any other person, but the fact that she couldn't remember how everything started or anything else besides her name made me wonder what could have happen to her in the past, before everything happened. But when i finally read about her past i was left speechless.

It was fun reading about how Eve tried to understand a few things, but what was hard was when she was struggling to understand her feelings for Avian and West.

One took care for her and treated her like she was part of his family. The other one had too many secrets and brought to life the bad part of her.For Eve was hard to choose, but in the end she understood without which one she couldn't breathe.

Between Avian and West from the beginning i was on Avian's side. Why?Well,West had too many secrets. He lied from the beginning and acted like everything was ok.But it wasn't.Meanwhile,Avian helped Eve and showed her that even if she didn't remember anything from the past he was there for her.He was her new family.I'm pretty sure i'm not honest here because there are too many things that happened after West appeared, but what can i say i'm not his biggest fan.

The Bane was about survival.About the need to fight and hope that one day everything will be ok.
Between trying to understand how everything started and reading about Eve's struggle i kept thinking about how can one mistake can ruin everything.A book about how the scientists tried to do something good and they failed.

I'm not complaining about anything because i loved how everything happened in Eden. How everyone was doing something and how they helped each other.I loved Keary's idea of writing about human beings who were capable of doing everything to survive. That's what really matters. To help each other and fight for life.

I'm addicted to dystopian books .I'm pretty sure that until the next book in The Eden Trilogy will be published i will reread The Bane. Why?Because  this book is one of my favorites and that's not going to change.
